Student poets showcase their imagination and language skills Our students, Haylie Ngok of 6A and Steve Luk of 6B, were selected as two of the 20 finalists in Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award (Open section) this year. They were both awarded the Certificate of Commendation and Hayley was also awarded the Poet of the School Award.
The Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award was co-organised by the Gifted Education Section and the Native-Speaking English Teacher Section of the Education Bureau. Every year, over 1,000 poems from different schools are submitted to this competition. The themes of this year's competition were “Beauty”, “Nature”, “Utopia” and “In the year...”. Haylie's poem, 'Beauty in Nature', was written with nature as the theme and Steve's poem, 'Hands', was written with beauty as the theme.
