English Speech Festival Practice

Our forty-four contestants for the English Speech Festival had opportunities to perform in front of an audience and receive feedback from their coaches on English Speaking Wednesdays, October 21 and 28.

The practice was done in the covered playground during lunchtime in two sessions, one for Junior and another for Senior Formers. Each session was held by an English Ambassador. Generally, the audience had high expectations for the second sessions as the first ones had those filled with worth-watching performances. Many students gave feedback to the performers on a form distributed to them.

The performers were generally well prepared and were able to read their poemswell with clearpronunciations and good use of voice. With even more practice, many of them should be able to attain satisfactory results at the Speech Festival inNovember and December. All the best!
