‘Save Our World’ - English Speaking Activity Day (ESAD) on October 22
‘Save Our World’ is the theme of our first English Speaking Activity Day on October 22. Our English Ambassadors designed and organized several activities for the day, including an inter-class quiz for S1 to S4 students on topics ranging from global warming to endangered animals; a word and picture matching game; a giant board game involving teams being asked questions on environmental issues; and a schoolwide poster competition. The Geography and Economics departments also prepared booths that were interactive and very helpful in engaging students in the use of spoken and written English.
Our Assembly began the day with a brief introductory talk by Mr. Paul on the importance of raising awareness of and taking action to solve the serious environmental problems around the globe. Then a video on climate change was shown, followed by presentations on each of the activities for the day by the English Ambassadors.
Many students attended the lunchtime and after-school activities and they loved all the prizes that could be won, especially the cash coupons from the Economics booth. Very popular indeed! The atmosphere was very positive with all the students thoroughly engaged in each activity. Overall, our first ESAD was a success and we look forward to the next one.
