Our First English Speaking Wednesday (ESW) on 16 September
On Wednesday September 16, we had our first English Speaking Wednesday. At the Assembly, Mr. Paul spoke on the importance of using English on all occasions, not only in the classroom. Sixth Formers Chan Ki Hing and Ma Hin Ching, introduced the roles of English Ambassadors and the major English events for the year. At the close of the assembly, new English logbooks designed by Fourth Former Cindy Han and Fifth Former Jenny Tai were distributed to all students.
At recess, our English teachers gave candies to students who spoke English or who said tongue twisters well. At lunchtime, there were fun activities particularly designed for our S1 students by Mr. Paul and our English Ambassadors. They included ‘Captain’s Coming’, a game full of action and excitement, which Mr. Paul played with two hundred students together in the hall. Lots of prizes and candies were given to the students for their active participation in the activity. Meanwhile in the covered playground, some students enjoyed playing games designed by our S6 English Ambassadors such as ‘Simon Says’.
Overall, our students had fun playing the games on this first ESW and realized the importance of using English at all times.
