Flag Raising Ceremony on National Day for
60th Anniversary of People’s Republic of China
On September 30, 2009, all students and teachers gathered in the playground to attend the school’s first flag raising ceremony for 60th Anniversary of People’s Republic of China. Flag holders from St. John’s Ambulance marched towards the flag pole with the music of our national anthem being played in the background. Then the whole school sang the anthem while the flag holders raised the national flag. Afterwards, we prayed for our motherland and the world as a whole. Then Ms Lam, The Principal, delivered a speech with two Secondary 7 students sharing their experiences in a trip to China. The ceremony was brought to a close with Mr. Chow singing passionately the song ‘Chinese’ and sharing with everyone his thoughts and feelings of being a Chinese person.
