20 S.1D students joined the English Drama Fest 2009 organized by the Association of English Medium Secondary Schools of Hong Kong on 27 April 2009. They staged an original play created by the students titled ‘A Mistaken Choice’. It talks about the different choices made by the main characters between friendship and love. Teachers and students worked very hard concertedly to prepare for the performance and their efforts paid off.In spite of facing some very strong opponents from some of the most prestigious schools in the territory, our students managed to cope with the stress well even though they are just in S.1.The performance was well-received by the audience and the whole theatre was filled with laughter and applause.The adjudicators commented that the play was full of energy and they appreciated the efforts our students had put in trying to engage the audience into the drama.As a result, our students were finally awarded the Prize of the Outstanding Performance. The students performed their drama once again on the Prize Presentation and Outstanding Performances Day on 16 May 2009 at Academic Community Hall, Hong KongBaptistUniversity.Throughout the process, our students learnt a lot about acting skills, projecting their voices, pronouncing English words meaningfully and accurately, using body language and facial expressions to present the characters and cooperating with classmates. It was a really good learning experience for them as they could fully use their different potentials and contribute their own part to the success of a team.Congratulations on their success.To Lord be the glory! |
