Big Day, Our Day

  3rd December, 2008, a very important day of Carmel. To
Student Union –Matchmen, the date marked the beginning of our first activity held – the CDG Olympics!
  CDG Olympics is a combination of various games,

including basketball shooting, football shooting, Sudoku, rope skipping, card memorization, card stacking and the Taiko. During the group section on the first day, contesters had to form themselves into groups and attempted all seven games competing against 10 other groups for the final championship. After the briefing section, quicker than a wink, teams dashed to the game counters and started working on the games.
  Soon after the games started, Carmel was filled with hue

and cry and the tension between groups started to build up. Their concentration on the games, confidence on their teammates, determination to strive for a better record, laughter and cry ignited the whole campus.
  The individual section held on the second day was a

great success too, and many students welcomed another CDG Olympics next year.
  CDG Olympics aims at providing an opportunity for
schoolmates to work together and have a good time, and by seeing students’ smile and devotion into the games, we know we have succeeded in doing it. There has been nothing better than the schoolmates’ support to our very first activity and words just can’t describe how touched and joyful we are for the positive feedback from schoolmates!
  Looking backwards, the road we went through was not
easy.Many times did our committee members meet together, brainstorm ideas, reject most of them, find out the problems, come up with solutions, feel frustrated and be cheered up. But this long and tough journey does bring our committee members closer and it does become one of the most pleasant memories we have ever had. We wish CDG’s Olympics can also be a glorious page in most schoolmates’ school life in Carmel, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience to every teacher and student.
