Hong Kong Physics Olympiad 2008
Jointly organized by the Education Bureau (EDB), the Physical Society of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the sixth Hong Kong Physics Olympiad (HKPhO) was successfully completed on 25 May 2008. A total of 825 students from 120 secondary schools were nominated to participate in the competition. There are the First, Second and Third Honours Awards, the Honourable Mention Award as well as the Best School Award. High-achieving contestants will be arranged to participate in a series of follow-on enhancement training programmes, from which high-performing students will be selected to represent Hong Kong to participate in the 40th International Physics Olympiad to be held in Mexico in 2009. Six students, representing our school, joined this competition and four of them got very good results. The details of the prizes they got are as follows:
First Honour Award: Chan Chak Fai (6C)
Second Honour Award: Yiu Lai Yin (6C)
Second Honour Award: Poon Ming Kei (5D)
Honourable Mention Award: Chan Cheuk Him (5E)
